Happy 4th of July America!

nearing the end of the long line, along with the bridge and East St. Louis, Illinois in the background across the river

Hi All,

Monday July 4th, 2011 was a celebration of yet another year of American Independence from England.

On this day to be proud to be American, my friends and I headed to the Gateway Arch in St. Louis to catch the glorious fireworks of 4th of July celebrations.

After the show we headed out the park with the swarm of people, and arrive outside the metrolink station to find a snaking line going up the bridge that headed to East St. Louis (pictured above). I was expecting a long and frustrating wait as is often expected with long lines before and after big events like this. As it turns out the line was very organized, very quick and very efficient. By far one of the most efficient and fast moving lines I have ever been in. In fact I think some immigration lines at certain airports have been worse than this line. St. Louis I am quite impressed and am quite reassured as you will be my new home soon.

I have attached a photo of the quite spectacular fireworks display that was put on that night, Enjoy!

Happy 4th of July everyone!
